Appellate Courts

Appellate courts do not hear witnesses; they read records. The transcript of what happened below, prepared to the reviewing court's formatting rules and paired with properly indexed exhibits, is the raw material of every appeal, and preparing it is our deepest specialty.

We prepare appellate records for state appeals, including deep experience under the Indiana Rules of Appellate Procedure, and transcripts that feed federal appeals from district and bankruptcy courts into the circuit courts. Court reporters bring us overflow record work; attorneys order the transcripts their briefs will cite; pro se appellants get the process explained straight.

What appellate courts demand of a transcript

Page and line numbering that citations can rely on. Speaker identification that never wavers. Exhibit indexes that land on the right page. Certification the court accepts. Formatting to the letter of the local rules. Our appellate transcripts are built to those requirements from the first keystroke, because a rejected record burns time an appeal does not have.
